About the event
On September 8, 2023, the U.S. Department of Labor published proposed rules to increase the minimum exempt employee salary threshold to $1,059 per week. Final regulations could be published any day. On January 10, 2024, the DOL published its Final Rule revising the regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act for evaluating whether an individual is an employee or an independent contractor. The independent contractor rule was effective March 11, 2024.
