HISTORY
Staff Management, Inc. was founded by John and Fran Morrissey in 1983 to provide Human Resources Consulting and Outsourcing Services to small and mid-size businesses. Having worked with their accounting clients of John Morrissey Accountants for over a decade, they recognized their client’s needs for additional HR support. Although the concept of employee leasing was new at the time, many local businesses realized the value of the services being provided. While working on growing their second family business, Fran and John were pioneers in the PEO industry, establishing industry standards and serving on several national committees.

Fran took on the sole management of Staff Management, Inc. which she continued for over 20 years. Fran’s professional recognition is extensive and includes: Top 500 Female-Owned Businesses (Working Women Magazine) for three years; Top 25 Chicagoland Women Business Owners (Crain's Chicago Business and NAWBO) for two years. Her local recognition includes the Connie Tremulis Award for Business Owners (YWCA). Woman Business Owner of the Year Award and Small Business of the Year Award (Rockford Chamber of Commerce). Most recently Fran was recognized by the PEO Insider Magazine for her trailblazing contributions to the PEO industry.
In 1998, John J. joined the family business after several years as an executive with Gateway 2000. John J. was named President of Staff Management shortly thereafter and assumed the leadership of the company along with the newly acquired payroll processing company, Market Dimensions, Inc. Together with John Morrissey Accountants, the three businesses constitute the Morrissey Family Businesses as it stands today. Mary Beth joined the family business in 2013 with a focus on Client Services and Communications. Together with a highly talented and tenured Leadership Team, John J. and Mary Beth currently manage Staff Management and sister companies Market Dimensions and John Morrissey Accountants.
